Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Albania and North Macedonia are outside the territory covered by this policy. Those seven countries — Albania, Azerbaijan, North Macedonia, Morocco, Moldova, Tunisia and Türkiye — are however covered by a bespoke policy arranged by an adviser, with an answer within 24 hours. Kosovo, Ukraine and Russia remain outside any solution. Driving to North Africa? Driving in a country is not the same as being registered there
You can drive a French-registered vehicle through Italy, Poland or Romania — they are covered destinations. What we cannot insure is a vehicle still registered in those three countries, whose registration papers our insurer refuses. A UK-registered vehicle is handled through border insurance instead.

Frequently asked questions
Which countries am I covered in?
35 countries: France and the rest of the European Union, plus the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Andorra, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia except Kosovo.
Does the covered territory change with the duration?
No. The same 35 countries apply whether you insure for one day or ninety. Only the validity period of your certificate changes.
Is the United Kingdom really covered since Brexit?
Yes. The UK left the European Union but stayed in the green card system, which is an agreement between national insurance bureaux. It remains an uncrossed country on the card.
Can I drive to Morocco or Tunisia?
Those countries are not covered by this policy. Cover applies in France up to the port of embarkation, Marseille or Sète. For driving in Morocco or Tunisia we arrange a bespoke policy with a partner insurer — an adviser answers within 24 hours.
What about Turkey, Ukraine or Russia?
Not covered by this policy, nor are Moldova, Albania and North Macedonia. Türkiye, Moldova, Albania and North Macedonia are however covered by our temporary insurance for these 7 countries, with an answer within 24 hours. Ukraine and Russia are not.
Do I need a paper green card at borders?
France withdrew the paper green card in April 2024: checks are plate-based. Keep a digital copy of your insurance certificate with you all the same.
Can you insure a car registered in Italy or Poland?
No. Italian, Polish and Romanian registration papers are refused by our insurer. This concerns the registration document only: an Italian, Polish or Romanian driving licence is accepted like any EU licence. Both countries remain covered as driving destinations.
Can you insure a UK-registered vehicle?
Yes, through the border insurance product designed for vehicles registered outside the EU: 30 or 90 days, cars and vans only.
What happens if I have an accident abroad?
The policy terms and the green card apply, under the law of the country where the accident occurs. Report the claim within five working days.
Where is the official country list?
On the green card issued with your policy: covered countries appear uncrossed. Article 4.8 of the general conditions refers to that document.
Does roadside assistance apply everywhere?
Assistance only concerns cars and vans and depends on the vehicle's age; it is excluded for other vehicle categories. An adviser will confirm your case.
